Steve DUTCH ROCKA Rose
Life learned lessons told by one of the few thats lived to tell it, The journey speaks.http://livepage.apple.com/

I was born Lebert Steve Rose, but in the music world, I’m Dutch Rocka. I was born in the city of Kingston, Jamaica on October 24, 1976 to a mother and father of very humble beginnings. They taught me that faith and love conquer all. The poverty in my community gave me a perspective on life that no one would wish for, but it still taught me how to appreciate the little things in life.  I grew up in a house full of brothers who had a wide respect for music, that later inspired me to also express myself musically. At any given time you could pass by my gate on Red Hills Road in Kingston and hear artists such as Bob Marley to Tupac Shakur and almost everything in between. Ironically, the first time I performed publicly was in Queens, New York as a hip-hop artist in a local rap group named “Corpse Crew”. After returning to Jamaica, I started my musical journey as a reggae artist or “Dj” as we say back home.

To highlight some of my achievements, I am a certified studio engineer; I’ve shared the stage with reggae artists such as Beenie Man, Elephant Man and Sean Paul to name a few. I’ve rocked the stage in Kingston, New York, Miami, and Atlanta where I currently reside. I have recorded songs such as "Red Light" and "Hustle", both of which are recorded in the Main Street studios, the hit factory of Kingston City Jamaica in the late 90's. I am the first Reggae artist to introduce the world to Magnum tonic wine, which is now a very popular drink in the Caribbean.

Since I’ve been residing in Atlanta my style of music has evolved into what I call purposeful music that speaks of my failures as well as my       successes. My goal is to, hopefully, steer someone in the right direction; based on mistakes that I have made. I have a beautiful wife and children that deserve the best of me. I always try to express a realness through my music for my fans, the same kind of realness that those who know me can see.

I am the founder of Leerocka Records, taking the musical experience to an unprecedented level with my eclectic style I like to call "Rip Hop", my purpose is to restore the broken hearted and uplift the down-pressed. Feel free to embrace the lyrical textures of street, soul and rhythm as I release my first album called “ Boot Legacy” which speaks of the journey from hopelessness to greatness with a voice of triumph.
